Everyone is feeling the excitement now that summer is finally here, but another problem that comes along with the sunshine is the inevitable heat and humidity that can wreck your appearance and leave you looking less than perfect. When you’re out there looking for summer romances, soaking up the sun and lounging around amongst the sun, the last thing you want is streaky makeup, melting eyeliner and sun-burn to ruin all of your photo memorabilia. With that in mind, here are a few tips that will help you to look hot, and feel cool during the hotter months of the year.
1.) Try Out A Shorter Hairstyle
Short hair doesn’t suit everyone, so maybe try talking to your usual stylist about your thoughts before you go ahead, and chop off all of your locks in one fell swoop. However, with so many different styles out there, the chances are you’ll find something fun, flirty, and light to keep you feeling cool and looking amazing during the summer. From pixie-dos to undercuts, shorter hair could really leave you feeling refreshed. If you don’t want to cut it, another tip would be to use a hair-tie scarf or fun hairband to keep your locks out of the way in a fabulous up-do.
2.) Use lip-gloss, Instead of Lipstick
Lipstick can have a pretty tough time surviving in the summer heat, especially if you’re chasing away the days with some hot summer loving. Instead of getting lipstick smeared around your face so that you end up looking like the Joker at the end of your day, try out a couple of shimmery, light-weight lip-glosses for a long-lasting and delectable finish to your smile.
3.) Waterproof is Essential
Anything with the chance of streaking should be thrown from your make-up bag when summer rolls around. Whether there’s a chance of showers or no clouds in sight, nobody wants smudged panda eyes or sweaty-streaks all over their face when they’re dressing to impress this summer. Invest in concealers, eyeliners, and mascaras that are streak-free and waterproof. Trust me, you’ll thank me for the tip later.
4.) Try Tinted Moisturisers and BB Creams
If you don’t feel comfortable going for the full nude-face look this Summer, as many women won’t, try opting for a tinted moisturiser or BB cream instead of your regular heavy foundation. This will give you a lighter option for an even skin tone, and help to add radiance to your skin without placing any extra weight on your face or increasing the risk of spot eruptions.
5.) Summery Smoky Eyes
Summer is the best time to get those smouldering eyes out there for the world to see, but you also need to lighten up a little, as black, streaky panda eyes are never a good look. Smudge a deep copper colour over your eyelids or use soft pink for a less harsh look. Usually, cream works better than powder in cases such as this, but choose a brand and make that is best for your skin.
